Purpose and Intent

The purpose in a man’s heart is like deep water,
but a man of understanding will draw it out. Proverbs 20:5

I want to understand. I’ve flown through so many landmarks in my life without any regard for the occasion. So, it seems in order to have understanding, I also have to be a man of intent.

Jesus’ birth was infinitely important. But the impact of His death and resurrection is what sets Him apart from every other woman-born life. The ripple effect caused by His sacrifice can still and will continue to be seen and felt.

This year, I’ve made a better attempt to be intentional. I liken it to sitting down and making the effort to look into the eyes of my children instead of just inhabiting the same space. I need to make personal, intimate contact with the Savior of the world so I can remember that we’re infinitely linked. And it’s in those moments I am reminded…He’s my purpose.
